What is a Body Massage?

The holistic application of physical touch to affect the systems of the body-the muscular, skeletal, elimination, digestive, circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, lymphatic, emotional, mental and nervous systems is called Body massage. Body massage is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body with the hands for healing, therapeutic, pleasurable and relaxing effects. Body massage is the loving touch of the heart expressed through the hands. Professional therapeutic massage originated in China, is an age-old healing art, which can alleviate mental, physical and emotional ailments.

Let us study about the healing powers of body massage.

STRESS

Body massage helps releasing stress and tension in our bodies by increasing oxygen flow and blood circulation in the body. Excessive unresolved tension and stress in our daily lives could cause continuous muscular tension. This type of mental tension or stress diminishes the flow of oxygen and blood to the muscles and organs causing pains and aches, feelings of fatigue, symptomatic heaviness, tightness of muscles and stiffness. This can even increase the chance of strains and injuries. . Tension creates a tendency for a build up of toxins in the body, and reduces the flow of the more subtle energy or life force (Prana or Chi). Muscular stress also deforms the skeletal anatomy, which further compounds present problems and develops new ones.

Benefits of Body massage

1. Assists weight loss

2. Improves and increases blood circulation and the flow of tissue fluid (lymph)
3. Nourishes the skin (with the right oils)
4. Soothes and relaxes nerves
5. Assists in removal of deposits of tissue
6. Releases emotional and mental tension
7. Creates a feeling of well-being
8. Gives pleasure

If you have any illness it is always advisable to inform a doctor before you go for a body massage.

Why Air Cooler Hire Is So Important When You Take Management Decisions

This article describes how you can take advantage of alternatives available when you start something new and how substitutes are used when you cannot get what you really would like to have. It also tells you how to take management decision considering a hypothetical decision of taking air coolers on hire.

Air Conditioners Are Required During Hot Climate

Air conditioners are required at each office in USA not just to keep a good relation with employees but also to increase productivity. Out side US when you start the project, you do not have electricity and the portable generators provided at start would not be able to provide electricity required for air conditioners, as they require large power to operate it. Certain places outside USA the air conditioners may not be available from market on demand.

Air Coolers Or Heaters Are Good Substitute

The air coolers are good substitute for air conditioners during hot climate and air coolers would reduce the temperature by up to 30Deg F on a favorable day. The Air heaters may used when the work is on in the cold countries. You would rather require air conditioner than air heaters in most countries of world.

When Air Coolers Are Not Available Easily

The situation we are discussing may not be directly connected to us in USA, but you might be in situation of a manager who has to take decision and answer tough questions. Some of them may be as follows. When even the air coolers are not available, and the requirements are urgent, what is the solution? The solution is of course to hire them. But hire at what cost? Consider the alternatives

- Will it be safe to work without it?
- Will it affect productivity? If yes, in what way and to what extent
- How will it affect production?
- What are costs of reduction of production
- Will just the fans do if the aim is to reduce temperature?

Consider The Cost Of Hot Hiring The Air Coolers

In management parlance, this is called opportunity cost. What are the costs of not providing air coolers? Will the worker’s productivity reduce? If so, by how much? If the immediate costs of hiring of air coolers are equal to or more than the cost of loss of productivity, then it is worth hiring the air coolers. The side benefit of providing the air coolers may be an increase cost of productivity of air coolers.

The marginal higher cost of providing may even be offset by increased production levels. It is a management decision really. It is not a decision of cost of hiring the air coolers. It is about alternative, and about how to take management decisions.

Matthew Anderson adds regularly reviews to www.evaporative-air-coolers.com . An online magazine about the basics of how evaporative air coolers work, and much more information on air coolers hire

Parental Controls - Everyone Wants Their children to be Safe Online

Some Parental Controls allow parents to designate different levels of access for each child.

To help you better understand how the various parental control software tools can be used, here are the three main categories of parental control software tools that can help your kids surf the internet safely.

1. ISP restrictions.

Your ISP can filter out what they consider unsuitable URL’s. The problem here is selectively changing the level of restriction depending on who is surfing the internet so it’s not easy. AOL have different login’s to facilitate this and BT Openworld have their own gateway they you can configure. It does however work well filtering out child pornography sites that nobody should be able to access. The Internet Watch foundation have come up with an initiative with BT known as ‘cleanfeed’ which stops ISP access to known child pornography sites.

2. Parental Control Software by URL filtering.

This generally covers packages such as Cyber Patrol and Net Nanny. Here you install a large lump of usually expensive parental control software that limits access to sites deemed by the package providers as unsuitable for kids The problem here is firstly updating the URL list and secondly you are dependant on the software manufacturer to make the decision. Many free speech groups have found profound flaws with this technique such as Peacefire (see www.peacefire.org) Where many political sites, in particular feminist sites, end up being blacklisted. In addition this kind of product tends to take a paranoid approach that covers areas other than browsing the internet. These include:

* Email Do you really want to limit email access only to known recipients?

* Instant Messenger Again, kids are the biggest users of ICQ and MSN instant messenger. As long as you keep out the spyware Instant Messenger is not a threat

* Chat rooms A lot of urban mythology about paedophiles and chat rooms. Again the right chat rooms are very well used and useful for kids.

Remember that you may change the categories at any time, so you can adjust your children’s access to best accommodate their maturity level or special needs.

3. PC activity monitoring.

This category of software package is typified by Spector Pro, KidsNet, eBlaster, Enuff and IamBigBrother Typically monitor everything that goes off on your PC and flags up anything suspicious. This type of program can really slow down an older specification PC because they have to store every keystroke and mouse, movement and browser URL. They often also have the ability to limit access to predetermined time slots. Another problem with this type of application is spyware checker sometimes flag them up as potential spyware because they deploy hook technology to intercept keyboard and mouse activity. These kinds of products have their place if you want to pretend to trust your kids and just confront them with the evidence once the damage has been done.

Best Air Purifiers - Take A Deep Breath

Are you hoping to find information on the best air purifiers on the market? There are several different types on the market to choose from including HEPA, ionic and ozone. Each has slightly different features and capabilities. There are many doubters in the world of science and other communities as well that don’t believe that air purifiers do what they say they do. The doubters believe that it is a “placebo” effect on the users and that nothing really changes and that the manufacturers are using scare tactics and false promises to entice buyers. That said, there are those who can cite scientific studies to the contrary-that the best air purifiers really do make a difference to the users in more ways than one.

Different Types

First to describe the different types of air purifiers: The HEPA runs air through a special filter that “catches” any harmful pollutants, bacteria, or allergens and takes it out of the air. The ozone air purifier puts ozone into the air which attaches to harmful substances and makes them harmless-however this type of air purifier has shown to be harmful to persons with some respiratory problems and is one of the best air purifiers used in places where there are no people. The ionic air purifier emits negative ions into the air which attach to harmful substances, viruses, bacteria, dust mites, etc. and then when the particles get too heavy and fall to the floor they are vacuumed up.

Consumer’s Opinions

Sites on the internet like epinions.com rate the best air purifiers so that you won’t have to. The ratings are done by actual consumers who use the products. According to epinions, the top two rated, best air purifiers were the DeLonghi Freshzone DAP130 Air Purifier and the Sharp Plasmacluster FP-N60CX Air Purifier. They were rated highly not only on effectiveness, but also quietness and looks. They were easy to use as well. The only complaints that were noted were that the replacement filters were very expensive and that on one unit you had to control it with a remote rather than on the unit itself. Each of these “best air purifiers” received a total of 5 stars out of five.

Those air purifiers that received 4 and a half or 4 stars on the epinions site also deserve an honorable mention. The Honeywell Enviracaire 50250 was the 4 star recipient among the best air purifiers, rating highly on air circulation, odor removal, and allergy relief by the various raters. However, all of the raters also noted that it was very noisy and therefore it rated poorly in this area. It is important to most people that their air purifier is not seen or heard and at least in this group the best air purifiers were not. The 4 star recipients were Austin Healthmate Air Purifier and IQAir HealthPro Plus Air Purifier. For allergy and asthma sufferers the IQAir was one of the best air purifiers because it allowed them to breathe freely and sleep through the night. One of the raters rated it low on initial cost, but then said that the cost was worth it because of the benefits that they got from it.

There are many more air purification products out there on the market today. You will probably want to do your own research by talking to people who have air purifiers, looking online, asking your doctor or other health professional, and getting as much information as you can. The air we breathe affects us every moment of our lives-make sure to make the most of it.

Traveling to Las Vegas - Let the Excitement Begin

Las Vegas is one of the most stimulating cities in the world and there is something to do that appeals to each and every one of us. Whether you’re into gambling or night clubs, or prefer golf outings or sightseeing, you can do it on a grand scale in Vegas.

It doesn’t matter if it’s your first or fifth visit, there’s nothing more exhilarating than making that initial decent through the Rocky Mountains. Looking out the window of your airplane, you’ll see the spectacular Las Vegas valley with its countless number of homes, many of which border right up against the mountains. As you continue your decent, the homes, swimming pools and roads grow closer and closer. You’re now only minutes away from an experience of a lifetime!

Just before touching down, you’ll be able to catch your first glimpse of the famous Las Vegas strip. On the far end of the strip you can’t help but see the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States (the Stratosphere) and on the other end, right across from the airport, is an impressive 43 story gold tower which is home to the luxurious Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

After you’ve landed and picked up your luggage, it’s only natural that the first thing you’ll want to do is take a trip through the heart of the city. Whether it’s a car, shuttle or limo, your first drive down the strip will leave an ever lasting impression. Can you imagine seeing a scaled down version of the New York City skyline (including the Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge) on one corner, and right across the street, a sparkling white castle complete with moat and drawbridge? These mammoth themed hotels are found all along the strip.

Most of us go to Las Vegas for entertainment. It is, of course, the “Entertainment Capitol of the World.” Since Las Vegas was originally created as a gambling oasis, if you enjoy the slots or playing the tables, there is plenty to go around. If gambling isn’t your forte, there’s an abundance of other activities that can fill your time. If you enjoy golf, for example, you can visit one of the many championship courses in the area.

Las Vegas is also blessed with beautiful, natural surroundings. Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Red Rock Canyon, the Grand Canyon and Death Valley aren’t very far away. Many of these attractions can also be visited in one day. If you prefer not to drive to these destinations, you can choose from a variety of guided tours that are available. Many of the tour companies will even pick you up from your hotel.

When you return from your day long journey, you’ll be ready to satisfy your hefty appetite. For this, you can can eat at one of the over 50 buffets in the area. Or, if you want to treat yourself to a gourmet meal, try one of the many upscale restaurants with well-knows chefs such as Emeril Laggesse, Wolfgang Puck and Bobby Flay.

Don’t forget that Las Vegas is also known as a city that never sleeps and has an extraordinary night life. You can visit one of the over 40 night clubs in town and be treated as a VIP as soon as you walk through the doors. You can dance the night away at Studio 54 in the MGM Grande or stop by the popular VooDoo Lounge at the Rio. The night life in Vegas is non-stop.

There are so many things to do and see that it’s impossible to experience it all in one, two or even three trips. Lets face it, we haven’t even talked about all the shopping or shows! Because Las Vegas is continuously growing and changing its landscape, there’s always something new and exciting happening.

If you haven’t already, you should try and visit Las Vegas at least once in your lifetime. After you’ve been there and experienced what Las Vegas has to offer, you’ll be wanting to go back again soon.

Brisket or Corned Beef with Ancho Chili Sauce for St. Patrick’s Day

With Saint Patrick’s Day approaching and in response from a request to one of my websites for a chili sauce without sugar, here is a good change from the usual brisket or corned beef and cabbage. If you are using corned beef, soak it in cold water for 1 hour to help remove some of the salt. Discard soaking water.

Ancho Sauce

4 to 5 chilis ancho
3 cloves garlic, peeled

Prepare the sauce by removing the stems and seeds from dried ancho chilis. Place in a bowl and cover with very hot water. Soak for 1 hour. With tongs, remove the soaked chilis to the bowl of a food processor and add the garlic cloves. Puree until smooth. If too stiff to puree add a little of the soaking liquid.

1 brisket or corned beef, 3 to 4 lbs.
1 onion, peeled and chopped
water to cover, use the soaking liquid
1/2 tsp. black pepper

Vegetables:
3-4 carrots, peeled and cut into 1 inch pieces
4 boiling potatoes, peeled and cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces
other root vegetables, if you like
cabbage, if you like, cut into wedges

Place the brisket in a large soup pot and add the chili sauce, black pepper, soaking liquid, onions and any additional water to cover.
Bring to a boil, turn to simmer and cover. Cook gently until brisket is fork tender, approximately 1 1/2 hours. Taste the sauce and adjust seasonings.

For a more Mexican flavor, add 1 tsp. dried oregano.

Add the root vegetables and cook until tender. Add the cabbage and cook for 5 to 10 minutes until fork tender.

If you making a Mexican style dinner, serve with tortillas.

Otherwise, serve with bread, either corn bread or a good chewy Italian or French.

Spring Is Here - Give Your Interiors a Lift (and Lend a Helping Hand)

So you’ve got Spring Break coming up and the Easter Holidays around the corner too. This is a great time to give your interiors a lift. Certainly you probable already planned some Spring cleaning, but really make it count and clean out. This is a perfect chance to get rid of clutter and give to those needing more. April is the showcase month for the Atlanta Furniture Bank’s charity event Chairish the Future. Funded by generous donations from major manufacturers, corporations, and individuals, the furniture bank is a hopeful repository of all types, sorts, sizes, and styles of furnishings, many in need of some repair. For this event, primarily chairs (though some other pieces are included) are donated by the bank to artists, designers, and architects around Atlanta. These talented folks then redesign and redecorate the pieces and they are displayed at Atlanta’s Lenox Mall (April 8 - 14, 2006) before being auctioned. The proceeds benefit many of Atlanta’s homeless citizens. (Your city may have a similar event.)

While you are cleaning up and sorting it all out, take a moment to review your furniture. Are they still all your favorite pieces? Perhaps you’ve got one or two that are bit worn around the edges, frayed at the seams, or you just really want a change. This is a chance to provide valued used furnishings to others, get a tax write-off, and give yourself an excuse to splurge on a new piece or two. The Furniture Bank of Atlanta needs your castoff furnishings! Of course, you might want to check out what goes up for auction, in case chairs are your bag. Personally, I collect them! At last count, I have 6 spare chairs, 2 benches, and 2 poufs all in my living room with my sofa, tables etc. Yes, it is a bit crowded, but great for those entertainment opportunities, and very flexible. My mini-chair collection is a bit larger, but fits on a bookshelf, so easier to manage. So take a look around, what furniture pieces are you collecting?? What do you need in your room that will add function, fun, and bring a smile??

Almost every room benefits from a single piece of furniture included that is a bit unusual in shape and form, and can be moved easily to accommodate extra guests. It could be a chair, a bench, a stool, a pouf, an ottoman, or anything you can sit on, even a bicycle in the corner. Speaking of which, sometimes it is best if the extra piece is mobile on wheels. Be careful, if you have children, this may become an interior mode of transport, scooted room to room!

Some of my favorite examples are a cardboard (yes, that stuff that boxes are made of) rocker a client found. Astonishingly comfortable, very sturdy and velvety with wear, a wonderful surprise. The hidden recliner in leather is also a good option, satisfying the men in the family with their LazyBoy dreams, while still fitting in even the more formal of rooms because it doesn’t look like what it is! Storage ottomans are always a good bet, providing secret space for games, a snack stash, or even too many remotes (go universal!) Again, my collection is eclectic enough to include a clear acrylic chair (a bit disconcerting to sit on though), a chair with bells in the back stiles, and still another with a twine woven seat. It adds interest, texture, and curiosity and best of all, still functions.

‘Tis the season to clean out and clean up! Take advantage of a Spring Fling getting out the old furnishings and welcoming some new pieces. You’ll have a fresh perspective, and a great excuse to entertain.

The Best Mortgage Deal Ever?

From a cursory survey of websites and brochures, you’ll see a myriad of different types of mortgage. The mortgages explored so far are a basic overview - you’ll find any amount of types - some combining several features and with added incentives to tempt you.

Basically, if you can imagine a mortgage, it probably exists. So, after doing your homework and boning up on mortgage terminology, how do you finally choose? Which deal is the best on the market today?

The truth is that there is no one-size-fits-all super mortgage that will be a perfect fit for everyone’s financial situation. What you need to do when choosing a mortgage is work out exactly what would suit you - and this will depend on your individual circumstances. Once you have an idea of what you’re looking for, you can let the lenders and brokers find the mortgage to fit.

Below are some examples of possible life situations, with ideas for mortgages that may be suitable:

The student

Young, single, and likely to be forever short of cash! It’s unlikely you’ll be able to find a large lump sum for a mortgage, and your income probably comes from part time jobs - hardly an enticing prospect for a lender. Your best bet is to approach family for help - a loan for the deposit and/or a guarantor mortgage (combined with proof of your responsible attitude) could help you get an early foothold on the property ladder.

Pushing 30

You’re paving the way to a successful career, and perhaps thinking of moving in with a partner. However, your salary is probably relatively modest, and you may not have much money saved. Ask lenders for their first time buyer deals, including 100% mortgages, and consider a joint mortgage with a partner to boost your buying power. Cashback may be useful for covering the costs of fees and buying furniture. Those willing to take a bit of a risk could consider an interest only mortgage combined with savings and investments.

Growing success

Perhaps you have a family or dependents now, and your career is fairly solidly established. You may want to make the most of your money by looking at flexible mortgages, or one that can be offset against your other accounts. Keep in mind your home may have accrued equity by now, which could be released by revaluing your home, and perhaps switching mortgage. If you run your own business and have some capital to invest, you might want to try a self-cert mortgage.

First Homeowner Loans - For Your Large Loan Need

A homeowner loan is a type of loan secured with the borrower’s home equity. Home equity is the figure that one would get by subtracting the loan amount from the market value of the home owned by the borrower.

When a homeowner loan is taken the home is taken as the collateral for the loan. As in case of any other secured loan the lender here has a legal claim on the home if the loan is not repaid. As long as the repayments are being made on time and the terms and conditions of the loan are being satisfied the borrower has the physical possession of the home. If the loan is not paid back fully then the lender has the option of taking the physical possession of the home.

The lender normally takes possession of the home in the extreme case and issues sufficient warnings before doing so. If we look at it from the lender’s point of view, there is no other way of recovering the loan amount than auction the home. The borrower should try his/her best and pay heed to the warnings of the lenders and make the repayments timely.

Why are homeowner loans attractive?

In case of homeowner loans credit history of the borrowers matter little as the lender always has the option of selling off the home and recoup the loan amount. It is for this very reason that these loans are easy to obtain for individuals of all credit levels.

As the loan amounts are backed by a security they have lower interest rates than the unsecured loans. The only thing that the borrower must be careful about is that he/she should have sufficient home equity to back up the loan amount.

There is absolutely no restriction on how the borrower uses his/her homeowner loan.

The borrowers find these kinds of loans very good as it gives them a chance to take a large amount of loan at an attractive interest rate. The factors that may play a key role in deciding the loan amount and the interest rate are the amount of home equity, borrower’s credit rating and the borrower’s income.

How to get a good deal on home owner loan?

The borrower should research as much as possible to know about the various loan options available in the market. The borrowers may start by gathering the loan quotes of different lenders. The loan quotes can be obtained by requesting online. After that the loan quotes should be compared to see the loan rates. Once a few borrowers are short listed on the basis of only the loan rates the terms and conditions of the borrowers should be studied in detail. Factors that should be taken into account while deciding in favour of a particular loan quote are - the repayment amount, the repayment period, various fees applicable under different conditions, fixed/variable interest rate. The borrowers would do well to calculate the future value of all the payments that he/she makes in case of different loan quotes. The loan quote having the lowest future value of the outflow (repayment to the bank) should be chosen.

A last word…

A very important factor that the borrowers should consider while going for a particular loan is the method of charging interest. If the method is not mentioned in the terms of the loan the interest will be charged on the variable rate method. This rate keeps on fluctuating basing on the change in the bank base rate decided by the Bank of England, UK’s central bank. The borrower under the variable rate method has to pay according to the new interest rate.

The borrower can protect himself/herself from a rate change by opting for a rate lock. Rate lock is a method by which a borrower requests the loan provider to charge interest at a particular rate. The loan provider may agree to the request and implement it for a particular period or the entire term of the loan.

However, by accepting the rate lock the borrower may not be able to take advantage of a lower interest rate in case of a decrease in the interest rate. The borrower may take the help of the experts while predicting the rate trends.

Demolition - Where Do You Start?

Why should you demolish that old building, it is doing no harm to anyone? There are many reasons why you should do something about old buildings that have fallen into disrepair.

Is it dangerous? Could a child playing there be hurt or killed by falling masonry?
Is it insured? Would you be personally liable for any injuries that happened, or would the insurance company pay? Are you sure the policy covers derelict buildings in a dangerous condition? Very few do.
It is an eyesore.
You have ideas for replacing it

How do you go about getting rid of it?

Sure, a handyman can take apart an old building stone by stone, timber by timber. Are you going to do it yourself? Are you positive that you can work out the order of safe dismantling?
Have you someone to work alongside you, because this kind of work should never be done alone? Would you do the job by hand or hire machinery to help?

If you hire an odd job man to do it, he is unlikely to have any special training, and is likely to be a hazard to himself, you and the general public. Unless he has insurance, you may be liable for any injuries during the demolition process.

Knocking down a building can be a hazardous task, unless you are a qualified and experienced demolition contractor.

Demolition contractors can recognize asbestos when they find it. They know where to find a licensed asbestos removal contractor and to seal off the site until the asbestos has been removed.

The legal consequences of not employing a demolition contractor are very scary. What would happen if a child wandered onto the site and legally required health and safety notices were not posted? Demolition contractors will have insurance to cover this sort of eventuality.

Demolition contractors have the heavy equipment required as well as the experienced operators who can make the job safe for themselves as well as the public.

Loreno Lepe has a background in the chemical and construction industries. Read more articles here. For more information check out demolition contractors and crane hire.
