6 Steps to A Success Online Business

In theory, there are millions and millions people that can use your product or service. Very important for your business success is to find who’s more likely to pay to have it. One of the best strategy to get the right answer is to have in your mind the following 6 steps.

1. Find a niche market.
Don’t aim to control a big, general market, there are not many business like Microsoft is. You don’t need to be a magnet for millions people in your business, you only need to attract a few thousands customers. Then, at least for beginning, narrow your search to focus a “niche” like alarm systems, home lighting, women interested in garden or home decoration. If your product is a success, you can extend your market later.

2. Figure out what they want.
You must understand that people have various needs connected to your business area. Do not try to be a superman to solve everyone. Do not try to use your mind in dividing their needs in more important and less important. You might be wrong. A better approach is focus your attention to those needs they ask more frequently.

3. Develop the products accordingly.
This is a very sensible point. Your may think to start your business with more than one product. This is not a bad thing, but you must decide first what product or product category people are more interested in. Then start by launching a single product or a family of close related products.

4. Offer the product.
This will be the big day for your business. You have the possibility now to check if your ‘lab’ work fits the needs of the real people you targeted. For a better fit, evaluate the deviation between your offer and people request. Then make the necessary corrections and adjustments. Do not exclusively concentrate your energy to quality of your product. Many success businessmen can tell that some modifications regarding promotion, delivery or packing solved the problem in many cases.

5. Automate the business.
It is a fact that your time and energy are limited. By consequence, if your business needs your physical presence every minute, you will have only a small number of customers. To cover your expertise and handling you must charge enough from every client. This is not such kind of business you can develop on internet, because the big secret and advantage of online business is to make it run with no permanent assistance form your part.

6. Start another product and diversify.
If you have succeeded to put your business on automate way, you have time for developing and diversifying your product series. To follow the above points is a must for your success

The final note. Remember to check the second point or even the first one from time to time. Do not forget that not long time ago videocassettes had a huge market, but the CD’s development has killed it overnight.

Inter Val has been around long enough to know when the right time comes. Go find more about finance and investment.

Back to School? Avoid shortcuts that turn into detours.

When Janine (a real person, name and details disguised) decided to get a graduate degree, she thought she was making a savvy career move. She signed up for an online program to avoid “sitting through all those classes.”

Three years after beginning her program, Janice realizes she should have done more research. “My degree won’t get me in the door. My classmates were already in the jobs they wanted — they just needed a piece of paper.

“And,” she continues, “my program lacks national accreditation. I will earn thirty thousand a year less than folks who are eligible for more competitive appointments.”

But you finished fast, right? Wrong, says Janine!

“We didn’t have rigorous research courses and our advisors are all adjuncts who are not committed to the process. It took me a year to get a topic approved and another two years to write and rewrite the thesis.

“And finally, I paid a lot of money for online courses, as well as travel to special seminars. In a traditional program, I’d have a tuition waiver and probably a stipend as well. And, when I finished, the salary differential would compensate for the lost salary.”

Janine’s program was perfect for some of her classmates.

John had been teaching for ten years at a small religious college when a new president insisted that all professors become doctorally qualified. John had neither time nor motivation to embark on a rigorous research-oriented program. Anyway, he had job security in a place he liked. He just needed the fastest graduate program possible — and he already knew how to write a dissertation.

Louise had won outstanding performance ratings with Mega Corp. After fifteen years she had seniority. Her bachelors degree and CPA certificate had taken her has far as she could go and her boss recommended an MBA - from anywhere. She, too, is a candidate for non-traditional online coursework.

Bottom Line: Try before you buy. Talk to recent graduates of any program — and pick those who resemble you. If you’re a novice in the field, don’t compare yourself to a graduate with a twenty-year track record who’s adding icing to his cake. You may need the cake to make your next move.

Choosing your Wedding Bouquet

Don’t know a Rose from a Rhododendron?

Every bride needs a bouquet - fact. Not every bride is interested in flowers, their delicate formation, what part of the world they originate, just how much is this going to cost me?

Irrespective of your interest or lack of in your bouquet, it has to be colour co-ordinated with the bridal party. Every bridesmaid will need a bouquet, obviously smaller than the brides, bouquet or hand held posies for the flowers girls, button holes for the Dad’s, Grooms, Best Men and Pageboy. Stick to the following guidelines and (hopefully!) you won’t go too far wrong.

What time of the year are you getting married?

This will determine what selection of flowers will be available to you If you want a specific flower that may be out of season, a reputable florist will be able to order it in for you but be ready to pay the price.

Do you have a favourite flower?

If so, incorporate it in your bouquet as the main flower with possibly only some greenery or baby’s breath added to pad out the bouquet.

What height are you?

You may ask what bearing this has on your bouquet!! If you are small in stature you do not want a large (wide) bouquet as it will only dwarf you. Select instead a long and narrow bouquet which will give you height. On the flip side, if you are a tall bride, you can opt for a larger bouquet but remember these bouquets can be heavy to hold.

If you see a bouquet that you like in either a magazine or on a website, keep a copy and bring it to your florist to give them an idea as what style you have in mind. It will make it easier on you both in the long run.

If you are decorating the venue of the wedding ceremony, remember less is more. An elaborate stand or two at the top is sufficient. If you wish to bring these floral arrangements to the reception, please give sufficient thought as to how (realistically) portable they are. Only give this job to someone you trust (speaking from experience here!)

Ensure that you get a quote in writing from your florist breaking down the costs so there won’t be any hidden or surprise charges.

Flowers really do enhance a venue albeit church, reception room, wherever, so do put some thought into it.

Ideally, try and see your venue set up for another wedding. Take note of what they have done with the room and specifically where they placed the floral arrangements. If nothing else, it may give you some ideas of your own.

Acquiring Potential Customer Information - Four Ways to Increase the Lifetime Value of Your Customer

Having knowledge about your customer base has myriad benefits but, hands down, the most important benefit of obtaining this critical information is using it to establish a strong enough relationship with them to encourage repeat sales and boost their “lifetime value.” Lifetime value is a term for how much a loyal customer is worth - how much they’ll spend - over the course of their relationship with your business. Hopefully, that relationship lasts their entire lifetime, literally.

That said, here are four ways to increase the lifetime value of your customers.

Add a Member’s-Only Section to Your Site

Encourage more customer interaction by adding a special member’s-only section to your website. This section should be a special area for existing customers and anyone else, for that matter - after they register (and give you their information in the process).

When your customers enter the members-only section, they should have access to member-only specials or discounts, as well as specialized information that’s exclusive to members. An example would be a nutrition company offering the latest insights about health and nutrition.

If you provide enough value for your members, you can start to ask them to participate in activities that will give you more insight into their lifestyles - like quick surveys about their habits and what products or services they value the most. You can then gather that information and post it in your members-only section to provide compelling reasons for members to visit frequently.

Let the members know you appreciate their thoughts and value their opinions. The “member’s-only” title makes the area appear special - and it is - but don’t limit access to the section; everyone who registers should be allowed to login and access the information. Remember, your goal is to collect information from as many existing and potential customers as possible.

Since you’ll be implementing a section to your site that has restricted access, you’ll need to integrate some sort of login function. A good IT staffer should be able to handle this no problem, but if you’re a super-small operation and don’t have that kind of resource, you can use a web-development tool like the one found at http://www.tools4webmasters.com/t4wsentry.htm. Yes, it costs money, but only about as much as it would to pay an IT professional to do the same thing, and sometimes taking the DIY approach can be more beneficial than you think - knowing how to manage the back end of your site can certainly come in handy.

Take Advantage of Message Boards

Taking advantage of online message boards is a great way to learn about your customers. Message boards are simply forums where people interested in the same topics can go to post their ideas and thoughts on subjects of their choice, get advice from experts, and socialize.

Like with the members-only section, you’ll want to include a registration section so visitors can join the board, and you can collect their information in the process. You don’t have to require registration, but make sure it’s available. There are all sorts of great resources for this. My personal favorite is Invision’s Power Board (http://www.invisionboard.com/ip.dynamic/products/index.html). It’s easy to install and manage, and it has all the built-in tools you’ll ever need.

Once you’ve got some visitors to your message board, you can let them suggest topics that they want to discuss and you can be the moderator. This gives you a chance to learn what subjects concern them so you can provide targeted information for their needs. You can also post discussion topics of your own to see how people respond to them.

Visit your message boards frequently to find out what your customers are talking about - what’s on their minds. These messages can provide invaluable insights into what your customers think and what they want. Not only are message boards a great tool for you to learn more about your customers, but they also create a sense of community that, if popular, will increase your site traffic dramatically. Really, they’re a must-have for your online presence.

Besides having a message board on your site, you can also visit other public message boards and even set up your own remote boards that are hosted on another site. The advantage to using these is that they’re hosted by sites that already get a lot of traffic, so you can really build up a user base even if your website doesn’t get a lot of traffic. Some good places to establish free message boards are: Yahoo! Groups (http://groups.yahoo.com/), MSN Groups (http://groups.msn.com/), and Google Groups (http://groups.google.com/grphp?hl=en&tab=wg&q=).

Encourage Your Customers to Complete Satisfaction Surveys

When a customer makes a purchase on your website or in your store, send them a short satisfaction survey - either electronic via email or hardcopy via the regular old U.S. Postal Service. You can personalize the surveys depending on what they purchased, or you can just send out a standard survey to everyone.

Customers, the same as just about everyone, like to be appreciated. Satisfaction surveys show them that you’re interested in their thoughts and that you value their patronage and their opinions. You might want to develop the surveys on your own, but you can easily have your employees circulate them. When you get them back, compile the results in a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel.

Like just about any method of acquiring data, it’s a good idea to give your customers an incentive to fill out the survey. For example, you could enter all of the completed surveys in a weekly or monthly drawing for a free product or service or some other prize.

Beef Up Your Referral System

In a previous article, I mentioned adding a tell-a-friend option to your website. It’s a wonderful idea, but I’d like to elaborate on that just a bit. You can greatly improve your rate of referrals if you offer an incentive - are you seeing a pattern yet? Encourage your customers to send their friends and family to your website by offering a referral bonus.

This special bonus can be in the form of discounts, free services, or - what I think is most effective - cold, hard cash. Everyone likes a little more cash in their pockets, and if they like your service already, they might drive a lot of customers your way - you’ll practically have another sales rep on your team. And be sure to make a big deal about the referral to everyone who is involved - remember, customers like to be appreciated.

An easy way to generate referrals is to print simple business cards that you can give to existing customers to hand out to their friends. Include your contact information, including your website address, and include the referral bonus system you have in place - you never know how big your referral system can get if you nurture it.

Implementing These Ideas

All of these suggestions for increasing the lifetime value of your customers through customer-data acquisition are easy and inexpensive to implement, and they’ll have you reaping huge benefits in the form of a larger customer base and increased lifetime value of those customers. With just a little effort on your part you can learn a lot about what your customers think and what they want and, in turn, you’ll see your sales increase noticeably.

Using E-Mail Newsletters as a Business Development Platform

When it comes to e-commerce, spreading your reach is extremely important. E-mail newsletters can be an effective method for expanding your business development platform.

E-Mail Newsletters

Selling and purchasing, over the Internet is a common practice nowadays. Generally successful enterprises focus on marketing strategies and planning. Web sites are significant way to enact these marketing policies. Web sites are a very effective way of promoting your products and/or services. People visiting sites will sometimes supply contact information like their name and email address as they may be interested in buying your product or they may have some questions about the services. They may also be interested in getting newsletters from you for service updates, special promotions or your latest product news.

Email newsletters are a powerful marketing tool. It is one of the most recent and advanced techniques of marketing. It not only provides a platform for your business development but also gives a new tactic to track your customers and leads. An email newsletter is a booming key to getting online customers. To gain customers’ confidence is a great achievement. E-mail newsletters build credibility by showing authority on the topics of your business fields. Email newsletters also act as list management tools for web site owners.

People routinely get a lot of newsletters. They don’t have enough time to read them all entirely. People generally like letters if the letter is easy to read or skim. Using short sentences, bullet points and outline formats all are inviting to readers in a rush. Nowadays users are quite demanding in terms of operation of subscription and un-subscription functions so another thing that matters is subscription process. The newsletter should also feature usability and functionality such that subscribers do not roam uselessly in web pages, trying to signup, find information or unsubscribe. This may result in loosing your valuable customers by annoying them.

As many as 70% of internet users in the USA makes a purchase online which is in some part a result of e-mail marketing. This means email newsletters play a major role in operating an online business. Currently many software solutions are available on the market and they may offer a variety of features. Before choosing any of them do some research. Learn what types of ads in newsletters are accepted and rejected by people and also by search engines. Sometimes you may be displaying banners or ads that may be ignored or unnoticed by customers. Bear in mind that reaching your target audience is not an easy job and your primary consideration is that you target those people that are willing to buy your products or services. Also pay attention to the value of repeated delivery. Repetition in email newsletters will result in name recognition for your company.

E-mail newsletters are a cost effective marketing tool but it is entirely dependent upon the content and users. Your main concern is the customer and without them no business can arise. A little care must be taken while getting users information. You should not attempt to force your users to supply personal information if he or she doesn’t want to reveal it. If you get personal information then you should not expose his/her identity publicly. A privacy policy should be posted on any web site collecting user data. Information stored on web servers should not be openly accessible.

Email newsletters will provide a very proficient platform for any business development if it is implemented carefully with tact, planning and a firm approach.
